I am glad it resonated Ben. I think it's really important that distinction. Dissociative states can emerge spontaneously, and feel quite numinous at times. Sometimes clients consciously evoke them as part of a defensive/seductive strategy. It's important to discern what's going on around them!
A beautiful piece Jared. I found your final paragraph particularly explanatory, uncomplicated and freeing. An offering to parts of our (my) somewhat dormant and perhaps suppressed humanity.
I really enjoyed your post — it reflects insights I’ve also come to in my own work. Jung, Edinger, and Welwood have been invaluable resources on this path. I teach shadow work through both webinars and in-person workshops in SW Houston, TX, integrating it with the astrological 7th House as a map for understanding projection and relationship dynamics. Look forward to reading more.
Great stuff Jared. I particularly liked the watch-out around transcendence as dissociation. Thankyou.

Brilliant, as ever ❤️
